"Forest Harmony" is the third "bark" painting in this series as I wanted to capture the beautiful cracks and fissures of this decaying trunk and at the same time capture the green jade colours of lichens and mosses that stay green year-round and their shapes and colours have not changed in milion years- showing that things in nature are harmonious, timeless...decay and rebirth are combined.

Lichens, mosses and trees share a quiet, harmonious relationship that reflects nature’s subtle interconnectedness. Lichen, a symbiotic organism formed by a partnership between fungi and algae (or cyanobacteria), often grows on the bark of trees. Contrary to popular belief, lichens are not parasites; they do not harm the trees they live on. Instead, they use the tree bark merely as a stable surface on which to grow. In return, lichens contribute to the ecosystem by fixing atmospheric nitrogen, improving soil health when they fall and decompose, and serving as indicators of clean air, as they are sensitive to pollution. This relationship showcases balance in nature—where coexistence, not competition, creates lasting resilience

These cracks can be physical, emotional, or spiritual, and they represent challenges, vulnerabilities, and areas where life isn't as smooth or seamless as it might appear. This mixed media painting is inspired by the myriad of fascinating formations, cracks, textures, colours and patterns that are everywhere evident in nature on this case the bark of a birch tree. Over the years as both a scientist and an artist, I have been inspired by their organic shapes some imitating nature's patterns like tree branches, and microscopic cellular patterns created by nature's sculpting eroding by wind, water, and heat. These "beauty marks" result from natural geological activity and weathering over time, from the creation of the earth until today. These weathered rocks are reminders of the resilience of nature and us during times of uncertainty and change.

In creating this piece, I delved into this painting is a harmonious blend of impressionism and minimalism. Embracing the tactile richness of bark and emulating it on canvas. This artwork is a contemplative gateway, inviting reflection of life and the challenges and joys it brings us every day.

A great muted and simultaneously striking painting with neutral colours that will bring some inner piece to your life and harmonize with your home and decor!. The texture patterns and irridescence changes based on the time of the day and the angle of the viewer.

Drawing on my background in science, I create evocative and purposely imperfect paintings inspired by nature's textures and patinas, and the amazing colours of dawn and dusk. My muse is the ocean a vital component in nature and an international icon across cultures and countries. The beauty and energy of water have always drawn me in. I am always drawn to the infinite horizon, the many moods of the water, the rich air, the everchanging beach, it is a place for exploration and reflection. I create evocative and purposely imperfect paintings inspired by the amazing colours of dawn and dusk and have developed a personalized style that translates and interprets nature through highly textured, luminous and transparent layers created with manipulation of mediums.

My art is a transformative interpretation rather than a literal rendering to elicit an emotional response. To experience this fully, the viewer must enter the multiple layers, shades and textures of my work, and be seduced into a visual, tactile encounter a holistic connection between artist and viewer, inspiring self-discovery, serenity, calmness and mindfulness. For the sky and to emulate I used oil and cold wax .I use mixed media for its capacity to create a visual and tactile experience. I curate combinations of materials and techniques to abstract reality, telling a story to elicit the viewer's emotional response inspiring self-discovery, peace, calmness and mindfulness. This connection I have with water its associated reflections, and the amazing colours, hues of dawn and dusk is what has inspired this painting. These pieces are a homage to the natural beauty and emotional energy that globally all water bodies have.
